About project
We believe that every project tells a story, and this one is no exception. Led by Lize and expertly executed with the help of Tau Pele Infrastructure, we embarked on a rewarding journey to breathe new life into a client’s home, transforming it into a stylish and functional space that reflects their unique taste and needs.
Living Area: The Starting Point
Our journey began in the living area, where the client envisioned a fresh and modern ambiance. To achieve this, we added new furniture and created a stunning feature wall by plastering the space behind the television. This wall became a focal point, anchoring the design and elevating the room's overall aesthetic.
Dining Area: A Functional Statement
Next, we turned our attention to the dining area. Here, we introduced a bespoke built-in cupboard that serves both form and function. This statement piece was designed as a combined coffee and wine station, adding a practical yet elegant touch to the space.
Kitchen: Practicality Meets Style
The kitchen transformation focused on creating a layout that works seamlessly, following the classic triangle design principle for ultimate efficiency. We selected a colour palette that harmonised with the dining room cupboard and the next project—the staircase.
Staircase: Natural Elegance and Safety
The client wanted the staircase to feature natural wood complemented by sleek safety glass railings. With no existing structure on the walkway, we built a new one from scratch, ensuring it matched the home’s updated aesthetic.
Front Door: Making an Entrance
To complete the transformation, we reimagined the front door as a bold statement piece. A large black door with one-way glass was chosen for its modern appeal and functional privacy. One tip for one-way glass: ensure the light outside is brighter than the interior light to maintain privacy effectively.
The new door installation presented a unique challenge: a size difference between the old and new doors left gaps in the tiles outside. To solve this, we replaced the tiles with Mixx cement, achieving a seamless and polished finish.
A Home Transformed
This project was all about bringing together design, functionality, and innovation. From the living area, dining room and kitchen to the staircase and the statement front door, every element reflects the client’s vision brought to life with Furniture Fair’s expertise.
