Mrs De Wet Office

At Furniture Fair, we love a challenge, and that’s precisely what we got when Mrs De Wet approached us to redesign her office. As the principal of a school, she needed an office that could function as more than just a workspace. We had to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions to meet her needs.

We added new curtains to soften the room. Her desk was custom-made to be on wheels and could change into a boardroom desk. We designed the desk with a hidden space for the printer and mounted the computer screen on a custom arm to declutter the desk.

The cupboards behind her desk serve a dual purpose. One of the cupboards doubles as a coffee station, which is the perfect solution to hide away any clutter.

To ensure that Mrs De Wet has space to discuss sensitive matters, we added a soft seating area to the office. We also added green to the office to give the idea of life, and the chairs have a beautiful floral detail to add a feminine touch to the space without being too feminine.

The art in Mrs De Wet’s office is dear to her heart. She bought the art from a student in her first year as principal and made a promise to the student that whenever she has a space for her art in her own home, she is welcome to have it back. The art spoke to her, and it was very similar to a photo taken of her as a little girl. We decided to give it a special place in her office.
