WENKEM – DULLSTROOM HOME

When the client approached us to design, furnish & decorate a newly built weekend home located at Highland Gate Golf and Trout Estate in Dullstroom  Mpumalanga, we grab the opportunity with both hands.

The client’s requirement was that the house should be timeless and just a nice happy family home. The house should be equipped for everyday lifestyle with all the necessities.

The nicest aspect was that we had full carte blanche and the client put his full trust in us.

We presented a proposal on the complete interior of the home, including sourcing of all furniture, window covering, wall art, crockery, décor items, etc.

The client immediately accepted the total submission and let us continue with the project.

The design and maximum utilization of the home was challenging as we only had building plans available and no physical measurements as construction progressed. The estimated building period extended by more than a year which also had its own challenges and all the furniture and items had to be stored for at least six months.

The most challenging was certainly the distance with the house located almost 700km from where we are located in Bloemfontein. Planning was invaluable in limiting additional costs in relation to transport.

The delivery, unpacking and installation went smoothly and the teamwork made the 3 days of installation a truly enjoyable project.

The client was very satisfied with the completion of the project and we were flooded by compliments with the “look” and appearance of the home and we don’t think we will look back again.

We worked well together where interior and exterior boundaries blurred to achieve requirements and vision what we all had in mind. The whole team helped to achieve this end result – what a pleasant experience it has been, a home located in a piece of heaven on earth!
